Website Editor – Widgets

The Widgets tab allows you to add content widgets to your website. A widget is a graphical user interface (GUI) module that displays information or provides a specific way for a user to interact with your website. Some of the widgets that you can add to your website include rows, columns, text, images, buttons, a search field and product listings.

The Widgets tab is accessed by clicking on the DESIGN button in the Page Toolbar.

WidgetsPanel

To add a widget to your website:

  1. Click on the WIDGETS button in the Website Editor Toolbar.
  2. Browse the Widgets tab to locate the widget you want to add.
  3. Click and drag it into a container on your website page.

    Allowable areas a widget can be inserted into include:

    • Within blank columns
    • Above or below existing widgets
    • Between existing widgets
  4. Click on the Save button and then click on the Publish button at the right of the Page Settings Bar.

Once inserted into your web page, you can select and adjust any of the settings available for the widget.

To access the settings for a widget:

  1. Mouse over the widget.

    The widget’s controls will be displayed.

  2. Click on the down arrow beside the widget icon.
  3. Choose the Settings item from the drop-down menu

   The widget Settings popup will be displayed.

You can also double-click on the widget to open the widget Settings popup (excludes Text, Page Title, and Heading Widgets).

   

   4. Configure the settings as required.

Settings for the widget are divided into a series of tabs. The first few tabs in the Settings popup are widget specific and will vary depending on the widget selected. The last four tabs, Background Properties, Layout Properties, Responsive Properties and Advanced, are common to all widgets. Refer to a widget specific help article for details on the settings specific to the widget. Refer to the Common Widget Settings help article for details on the common settings.

   

   5. Click OK, once you have finished configuring the settings.

   6. Click on the Save button and then click on the Publish button at the  right of the Page Settings Bar.
